Tennessee says….
The past 15 months have been challenging for charitable organizations. Many organizations have faced financial hardships due to constraints on fundraising. As a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Tennessee General Assembly unanimously enacted legislation to assist organizations in their financial recovery efforts. Public Chapter 295 reduces all fees associated with the registration and regulation of charities, professional solicitors, and annual gaming events with the Division of Charitable Solicitation and Gaming.
Tennessee historically based annual state charity registration fees on gross revenue with annual fees starting and $80 and topping out at $240. This is a nice savings for many nonprofits. More money for the mission is always a good thing.
Maybe Massachusettes will consider doing the same??? Now Do Good – Be Good!
