Mississippi Charity Registration Update – Audit Requirements Change

Beginning July 1, 2023, per Senate Bill 2077 passed during the 2023 Legislative Session, the new  Mississippi filing threshold for state charity registration audit requirements has been increased to $750,000 in monetary donations. The previous threshold for filing an audited financial statement was $500,000 in contributions. The audit should be prepared using the cash basis measurement.
