UTAH STOPS REQUIRING CHARITY REGISTRATION
Nonprofit Organizations No Longer Required to Register for Charitable Soliciation in Utah!
From the Utah Division of Consumer Protection website:
During the 2024 legislative session, the Utah Legislature passed H.B. 43, Charitable Solicitations Act Amendments. Effective May 1, 2024, charitable organizations will no longer be required to submit an annual registration with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection.
Beginning March 29, 2024, the Utah Division of Consumer Protection will no longer accept charitable organization registrations.
Charitable organizations will continue to file their incorporation documents with the Utah Division of Corporations and Commercial Code.
Under the new law, certain charities will be required to upload their most recent Form 990 as part of the corporation’s filing process. The Division will promulgate new Administrative Rules that reflect these changes.
More information will be posted on Utah Division of Consumer Protection’s website throughout the year regarding the application process.
